Family Home Evening: Our Great Pumpkin Patch Adventure

For Family Home Evening we decided we would go get our Halloween pumpkins. To make it feel a little more festive, I had the girls help make our dinner... "ham and cheese spiders". The girls thought this was really fun and they were really good too! This is what they look like when they come out of the oven. The silver "balls" are aluminum foil that you put under the legs to make them stick up.... We think they look more like crabs than spiders...but we will call them spiders anyway!

We tried to talk Courtney into going on Saturday instead, but she insisted that hunting for pumpkins in the dark with flashlights would be AWESOME!

We couldn't see them really well in the dark...but hopefully tomorrow in the light of day they will be as great as we thought they were tonight...

I told Dan to look excited... he gave a great effort don't you think?!

After getting our pumpkins we decided to skip the rice krispie treats we had made earlier and went to Red Robin for a chocolate shake instead... We should have shared... none of us even came close to finishing one! But they were delicious!

It was a really fun night and another great Floyd Family adventure! Family Night is the BEST!!!!!

Live It:Jenny Phillips Music Video

Here is the other video. Most of these girls are ones in our Stake that we invited after Jenny asked if Kenna had any friends that we could suggest. The funny thing is that she knows several of the other girls from school and is friends with them too!! (Those girls happen to be in Jenny's new ward here in Saratoga Springs) What a great experience for all of them!!!

St. George 2011...

On Friday morning, we headed for St. George to support my mom in running her 20th marathon... and my brother Brent in running his 1st. After checking in, we went over to visit with my parents and gave her a little gift we had gotten... My mom loves American Girl ALMOST as much as Courtney...so we got her the "running outfit" for the doll she has on display in her home...

Dan and the girls and I then headed out for our night on the town. My mom has to go to bed early, so we always make personal plans for Friday night. First we headed to the Red Lobster for dinner...

And then headed over to Tuacahn for the "Little Mermaid"...

Kenna and Courtney...

Dan and Kenna...

Kenna and Courtney during the show... it was amazing! I liked it even better than Tarzan we saw last year. And no...we didn't realized how ironic it was we ate at the Red Lobster before seeing that show until after we had already made the plans!!! Funny!!!

Saturday morning we headed over to our "regular" spot to wait and watch for my mom and brothre. Courtney wrote me this message with rocks she found... I love you too Courtney!

My Dad, Dan, my sister-in-law Karen, and my nephews Alex and Tyler...
Me and my man...

All the kiddos... Alex, Tyler, Matthew, Kenna and Courtney... waiting in the blistering heat! Poor marathon runners....

Here comes my mom! Run Grandma run!!!!

And there goes Brent! He had a tough time due to a foot injury, but he finished!!!!!

After a they both got a quick shower we headed to Iggy's for lunch. My sister in law gave them both gift bags...and she gave him a new athletic supporter... ewww! I guess it's a gift that keeps on giving... and they are doing the Las Vegas Ragnar in a few weeks!

Another great weekend with family! Glad we could come cheer them on! Now we will go swim while Dan goes to the Priesthood broadcast...and get up early to head to the conference center for the 2nd session tomorrow!

Great job Grandma and Brent!

Jenny Phillips 2012 Youth Music Video

How beautiful are these girls? They are sweet, kind, and friendly. They are living the standards of the Church. They are willing to stand alone...but together are STRONG! They have the Light of Savior in their countenance... Jenny Phillips called me a couple of weeks ago and asked if McKenna could be in her video(s) for her new upcoming 2012 C.D. which should be coming out at the end of this month. I told her of course...and she asked if we could also get a few of McKenna's friends. Girls that we KNOW are living righteous lives and are good examples. We asked 2 girls from our ward (one High school (Kamree)/ one Jr. High (Kylee)) and 2 girls from other wards in our Stake. One Jr. High (Riley)/ one High school (Alli). They were amazing and beautiful...and Jenny loved them all! I have seen a "sneak peek" of one video...and I will post the link as soon as it goes on YouTube. All I can say is WOW! These girls prove that our youth is strong and virtuous...that no matter what is going on in the world, no matter the influences, that if our children make good choices and find good friends they can be a light to the world.
