I remeber being in 8th grade and the really cute girls all had braces.... I wanted them SO bad! Now I can look back and laugh... because I didn't need braces... and they probably would have beat me over the head with their "toothbrush cases" if they had known how bad I wanted them! McKenna thinks I was insane for sure! Yesterday, December 30th, McKenna became one of those gorgeous girls! They kept telling her in the office yesterday that they couldn't believe how cute she looked in them! She is already drop dead gorgeous... and getting braces didn't change it! She looks even a little bit older... which doesn't thrill us as her parents... but as always she is being a trooper and although in pain, wouldn't act like it if we went to a party! She will only need them for about a year... and so the count down begins!

Christmas At The Floyd's
This Christmas was one we will always remember... in great part because everything we "planned" changed. I like to "plan"... I spend a great deal of time trying to make sure things go "just right"... but this year I learned "flexibility" and that things don't always have to go exactly like we plan to be "just right"! Our brother and sister that are married... Greg and Angie... and their boys came up from Arizona to spend the Holidays this year. They had planned on staying at our house for a few days, and then going to my parents for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and then leaving on Friday to head for home...but ended up staying the entire week at our house! Their good friend Kaisi was supposed to go home to Kanab for Christmas but due to our crazy weather and bad roads, her parents told her not to come. She was going to be alone for the Holidays... which just isn't right... so on Tuesday the 23rd at around 2:00, we found out we would be having a house full for Christmas. I immediately ran to Kohls to see what PJ's they had left and bought them for Greg, Angie and Kaisi. Angie had bought some for the boys already... but we have the tradition of new PJ's on Christmas Eve, and I didn't want anyone left out. When talking to her fiance on Christmas Eve (He had flown home to SanDiego) she told him that she was having the best Christmas she had ever had. Like I said in my Christmas letter... it wasn't because she had a ton of gifts under the tree! It was because of the "feeling"! We started with our big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve...
After dinner it was time to open our new P.J.'s... you should have seen Greg, Angie, and esspecially Kaisi's faces when they realized they had new pajamas too!! Here is a picture of the kids in their new Christmas P.J.'s ... and Dan and Courtney snuggling up!

What a wonderful Christmas it was!!!!
And then it was time for "our" new "tradition" we picked up from our friends the Mair's... A Game, a book, a movie, and a music C.D... It sure made the evening go by quickly!
The next morning was started with the strict rule that no one was allowed up before 7 am!!! The kids all slept upstairs and had to come into our room before going downstairs! Just for fun, on Christmas Eve Dan gave them his 2-way radios so they could talk to each other ... the boys were in Courtney's room and the girls were in Kenna's room. They loved the idea of course... and I thought it was fun... until the next morning around 6 am when we awoke to the sound of Logan trying to get the girls to answer theirs! (They had been smart enough to turn theirs off the night before and slept right through it!) We shared with Kaisi the tradition we have of our "Gifts to the Savior" and read through our slips of paper. We won't ever forget the Christmas we opened our home to a complete stranger... and made her feel like family!

Courtney's Birthday
I know I am doing this in the most random and strange order... but at least I am doing it! Here are a few pictures from Courtney's birthday... One of her party with friends, one of her just after opening the beautiful outfit that her best friend Camilla (with a little help from her mom) designed and made for her American Girl doll!!, one of her opening the American Girl wheel chair she wanted that my parents bought for her, one of her showing how old she is with her fingers on her face (?Okay...), one with her and her best friends Camilla and Jonah when they came over for cake and icecream on her actual birthday, and one with a Rudolph nose. (Courtney loves to pose...strange but okay!)....

My Bedroom...
We have been trying to find the time to paint our room and hang some pictures on one wall above our dresser... strange that we have suddenly "found" the time during the craziest time of the year! We will most likely finish painting this weekend... and then we will take out the ceiling fan and put in some can lights. I will put on pictures when the project is finished... but here is what is done so far!
McKenna's new Beach Room
For her birthday... she turned 13 on December 4th... McKenna wanted her room redone. She is our future Marine Biologist... and the "girly purple room" just wasn't doing it for her anymore. I guess I just didn't realize how long we have lived here...over 4 years now... and what she loved at 9 years old wasn't her idea of wonderful at 13! Here are a few pictures of her new room. (I still need to finish one wall... I have painted the sky, ocean and sand, but I still need to paint a palm tree and glue some real shells to the "sand" and maybe paint a crab or something... we'll see!
Courtney's Baptism Pictures
Here are some beautiful pictures we had done of Courtney in front of the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. (I hope I spelled that right?!) We had her take a few of McKenna and Courtney. Gorgeous!!!! She was baptized on Saturday, December 6th... and it was a really wonderful day. Thanks to everyone that came and supported her!

I'm the Worlds Worst Blogger! (and proud)
It's true... I stink at this! But, I do need to get on here once in awhile and give an update on our family. We have lots of fun adventures! I just need to take the time to write about them! I wanted to put on some pictures we just had done...
