Courtney's Birthday: Part 2

After getting dressed and ready for the day, Camilla came down for a little while and just couldn't wait until Courtney's "friend party" on Saturday to give her a gift... Courtney modeling her new outfit...

Best friends forever...

Dad and Courtney figuring out her new camera... who am I kidding... Courtney figured it out in about 10 minutes and she was showing Dan how to work the touch screen...

A view of our Thanksgiving table... I can't believe I forgot to take pictures when everyone sat down to dinner!

A view of one of the serving tables...

We had pie...and birthday cake! This is cake #1....

She got some fun gifts from family... and later on Grandma and Grandpa King stopped by and brought her the American Girl vanity! So cute!!!!

On Saturday the 26th we had her "friend party"... here are some of her cute friends! Lunch at Chik-fil-a...

Our birthday princess Courtney!

And then we headed over the movie "Arthur Christmas"... it was so cute!

And then back to our house for cake #2....

Camilla had already given Courtney her gift so she made her this beautiful card with "reasons she likes her...loves her... ect..." It was adorable!
She received so many fun gifts and had so much fun with her cute friends!

I am so grateful our kids have so many wonderful friends! Days of birthday fun finally come to an end...

Happy Birthday Courtney!

This year, Courtney's 11th birthday fell on Thanksgiving, so the day before on the 23rd we did a little celebrating! First I took her and Kenna to breakfast at IHOP... And then later we met Dan for lunch downtown...

On Thursday morning we got up bright and early so she could open her gifts...

She could hardly wait!

Daddy gave her a special gift... a new camera!

And it's official... she has the BEST and most GENEROUS big sister in the world!

The newest addition to our family... and she looks just like Courtney! She loves American Girl!
And here are all her fun gifts! A new outfit and boots to wear for Thanksgiving... and lots more American Girl stuff! It was a wonderful morning...and we sure love our Courtney!

McKenna's Young Women's Medallion #2

This Sunday, McKenna received her 2nd Young Women's Medallion. We are so proud of her, and of what she accomplished this second time around. Of all her projects, her very favorite was reading Jesus the Christ. I loved having her come to me as she was reading and share what she was learning, and how it made her feel about our Savior. We thought she had missed attending the "Medallion Lunch" at Harvest restraunt, but found out that they had moved the date and she finished just in time. She and I enjoyed our time celebrating with the other girls and their mothers... I am so proud of my beautiful daughter! And here is all her bling...

We are so proud of the choices she is making in her life... she is beautiful inside and out!

Tithing Settlement Survival Kit

I had forgotten all about "tithing settlement"... starting on November 15th bishop's all over the world begin this time consuming process. It also happens to be one of Dan's favorite times of the year because he gets to visit with all of the members of our ward. He really loves that one on one time with each family...especially the kids! However, it takes lots of time... for he and his clerk... so this is to help them be prepared for all of those long hours with little "sustenance"...

Plenty of yummy snacks to grab in between appointments! They have trail mix, granola bars, beef jerky, a few little sweet treats, drinks to wash it all down... and breath mints! Thanks Jenny R. for brainstorming with me on this survival kit!

Metro Group... New Facility

Dan has had a really busy year at work... the planning has been in the works even longer than that. This is going to be the new Metro Group facility... Dan's "baby". He has done everything from day one. The planning...the meetings... working with the architects... dealing with the city and banks and permits... etc... you get the idea. It has been a labor of love. The walls are finally going up...

Here are some of the "grinding balls"... these are what they deliver everyday to Kennecott and out to the gold mines in Nevada.

Another view... And this is only about 1/4 of the building...

We joke that this is the "biggest crane in the world".... it is one of only 3 in the state of Utah big enough to lift the walls for this building! They have to lower it at night and on weekends because of the airport being so close!

Dan's office is on the top floor ...in the opposite corner of the one you can see in this picture.

This is an amazing process to watch... I came out one day during the day and got to watch them lift a section and put it in place...

This is the parking area...

I will post pictures through out the process... Can't wait until it is done!

Halloween 2011

Tonight was our ward "Trunk orTreat"... Dan was dressed as "Captain Moroni"... The kids loved it!

Dan and the girls... Kenna was a 60's girl... Courtney a pirate...

The following night... Courtney hosted her first non-birthday party...

Courtney the pirate girl...

Courtney insisted that we have a witches cauldron with dry ice...

All the kids enjoying their pizza...

Playing the donut game...

Playing "pin the eye on the cyclops"...

A little ping pong... no Floyd party would be complete with out some ping pong!
On Monday... Halloween day... I went up to the school for the parade... This is Courtney's BFF Camilla's little brother Eli. He was HILARIOUS!

Courtney and Camilla...

Later I helped in Courtney's class with her party... Showing off their oreo cookie spiders...

Happy Halloween!
