What a weird few days... it started last week when I found myself registering McKenna for her Senior Year of High School. Wow. That was a sureal moment. She had to work right after school so we outlined what classes she wanted to take and when... and I braved Skyward on my own. I have come a LONG way. The first time I registered her for classes on Skyward I literally hucked the worlds largest lemon across the room. Don't ask. Not my proudest moment. No one was injured. No property was damaged. And the lemon met an untimely death later that day... but did in fact survive this event.
We were able to get her all the classes she wanted so she was thrilled! (except College English 1010... it would have taken 4 of her 8 class periods.) That is the advantage of being a Senior. The classes aren't all filled when you get on to register.
Now for another event that left me feeling old. Dress shopping with McKenna. Sweethearts is coming up this weekend and she is going with her good friend Cody. She and her friend Kamree decided to ask their friends Taylor and Cody and have been having fun planning ever since. I wish I had a picture of the cake she gave Cody to ask him... They had little frogs on them and a note that said... "Of all the frogs in the lake... you're the only prince I want to take". So cute. The guys answered with "princess" puzzles with "Yes" written on the back. It is semi-formal, so we went out dress shopping yesterday. Dan had a $50 gift card to Men's Warehouse that he gave her to buy a tie for Cody because we weren't sure what color dress she would end up with, and we didn't want him to have to try to find one to match. It ended up being easy... black and white!
Doesn't she look great! She loved this one the moment she put it on! She is beautiful!!
We took Courtney with us... and of course she put the time sitting and waiting to good use. She can hardly wait until it's her turn to go dress shopping! Very dramatic...
I keep telling my girls that they need to slow down and not grow up so quickly! It is fun... but am I really ready for this?

Cute. I loved school dances.. and the asking and answering part. I think it is so funny how utah culture is when it comes to dances between the creative asking and the all day dates. I love it. I'm glad our girls will get to experience that.
The funniest (and grossest) one I ever had was when I got a box with a toilet lid inside. The guys picture was in the lid when I opened it and it said, "If you're gonna go, go with me."
I sent him a box of kitty litter with unwrapped tootsie rolls in it that said, "I doo doo want to go with you."
I'm sure his parents thought that was real classy...:) but hey when you ask with a toilet....
She looks beautiful! I am so excited for her. She will have an awesome time!!
I love her modest dress. And it is crazy registering for senior year!
That does seem so weird that she (you)is registering for her Senior year! Wow! Her dress is really pretty. She will be a knock-out for the dance. And Courtney made her gown modest-friendly, too, with the lovely t-shirt!
