Back To School Party 2011
What does a high school student need to have the PERFECT back-to-school party? First, she needs the worlds COOLEST dad...someone needs to BBQ all those hot dogs and hamburgers, right?
Then she needs the worlds most AWESOME mom... you know, one who is willing to help plan the party, buy all the food, drinks, and decorations, go pick up one of your friends who can't come until 10:15 because he is participating in his sisters WEDDING reception, and then drive him home at 11:45. Oh yeah... and drive your other friend home to bountiful the following day after church...this woman sounds amazing!
Then you need the worlds SWEETEST little sister who is willing to sit upstairs and wait for YOUR friends to arrive so she can send them downstairs to the party...
You need cupcakes...definitely cupcakes...
Cute plates, cups, and utensils... most people don't know this, but food actually tastes WAY better on cute plates... FACT.
And chips... where there are teenage boys, there MUST be chips. Well... chips AND teenage girls. Chips are WAY better when there are teenage girls eating them too...
And speaking of teenage girls... this is McKenna's cute friend Holly. They met in kindergarten while we were living in Bountiful. It was tough on both of them when we moved during 3rd grade...but they have stayed in touch. Occasionally we get them together for the weekend... aren't they adorable?!
Jack, Colton, and Kenna visiting... and waiting for food...
Look at all these cute kids!! LOVE them!!! If I could keep them around every day I would!
Taylor Davis and Kamree Randall...
After eating they all went out under the deck to hang out and talk...
Kimball Davis, Trent Benham, Jack, Colton Fairborn, Cody...
And here are some of the lovely ladies...
And here is what they are watching... the guys playing a little ping pong...
And while that was going on inside... this was going on outside... Gavin Schmalz and his unicycle. Last time Holly was here he taught her how to ride it... and she ended up buying one too! He brought his over tonight and the two of them...with Taylor as a chaperon... went out front to ride... lookin' good Gavin!
What a woman Holly!
We then went out back where Bishop Floyd decided to give it a try... on the grass? It didn't work so well....shocker.
We got the fire started for S'mores and the boys showed off their "manliness" by doing a little wrestling. Very impressive.
Meanwhile Colton curled up in the hammock and several of us took turns pushing him. I told him I was going to do an underdog... I didn't, but he looked a little concerned!
Time for S'mores! I didn't notice it until I put the pictures on here... but "Hello" Colton! He must have said something really funny to Holly... what a ladies man!
We haven't had a fire and done S'mores this whole summer! It was about time...
Holly was the first to make a mess all over her face... she wouldn't be the last...
I miss all of them just looking at this picture! I think we had almost as much fun as they did!
And there's Dan right in the middle of it all... making me a S'more!
And here is one of my favorites... Cody is hilarious! This is him on his 4th S'more!!! He is so much fun and so full of life... definitely the life of this party!
Kenna seems to give me this look a lot lately... maybe because I'm always taking her picture! Does the look on her face say "please go away now" or what?!
Cody on S'more number 5! We need to give this kid some gloves and let him pull some weeds or something! He is going to be wired from all the sugar!
They played night games for awhile and then I went to pick up Kenna's friend Heber. She met him at EFY a few weeks ago... he's a great kid! This is what he and I walked in to find... all of the kids sitting quietly. I was suspicious... and then realized it was them who had just "crank called" my phone. Cody is now calling one of Holly's friends... followed by Mr. Bilbao. A lot of them had Mr. Bilbao at the same time for 6th grade... He is awesome. I guess I will apologize tonight at back to school night....

Wow. How fun. This made me think of all the parties I used to have in high school at our house. They were so much fun.
I'm glad you guys enjoy having the friends over. All my friends wanted to be at our house and that is our goal for our girls. We want them to love being home and having friends over.
They all look so cute!
Oh yeah- and that mom sounds really awesome... not to mention hot.:)
Hey there, cutie pie mom! I agree with Cheryl...the mom is really cool! Such good great clean fun for those super kids. I bet Kenna felt so proud that she could have her friends come to her home and not be embarrassed (except for maybe all the picture taking by said mom!?!)!
You are the BEST! When I grow up I want to be JUST like you :) Thanks for inviting Gavin and letting him show off his mad skills.
