Day 15... Today I am thankful for quiet moments and deep conversations with my children.

You never know when they will happen... so you have to be ready. Some of the best conversations I have had with my girls have come when I have least expected it. Last night was one of those times. Dan was at the church for the first night of tithing settlement, Courtney had a friend over for dinner and they had gone into her room to hang out, and McKenna and I were preparing to clean up dinner. We instead sat down together, had the fireplace going, the TV was off, and it just happened. I love how well she knows the scriptures and the things she has learned in Seminary. (Brother Hawks you ROCK!!!!) She shared her insights of several scripture stories with me and the way she has been taught to ask her self questions as she is reading so she can understand the deeper meaning that our Father in Heaven and the Savior want us to grasp. She has read the Old Testament, the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, and is now reading the New Testament. She LOVES it. I love that she loves it. I love that when a moment presented itself, that I as a mom realized ... that the dishes could wait.

I think you are a wonderful mom who is willing to be open for those moments. I wish I would have been more that way when you were growing up.
