Day 6...
This is what I am thankful for today. That I can vote! When I dropped Courtney off at school I went right in and got in line. Almost 2 hours later I cast my vote. I wish I could have taken a picture! The fact that in my neighborhood... in a REALLY conservative and republican area... that we have this kind of turn out... IS AWESOME!!!!! Every vote counts. Every vote matters. This morning I got in to a lengthy discussion with Courtney on what the Electoral vote count means and why it is important. She had heard that the election could be a tie and didn't understand how. It also hit me this morning that McKenna is so close to being able to vote for the first time! She will be 17 next month. I hope that I can teach them how important it is that they vote... and how many people have fought and died for our right to have our voices heard. I have prayed more about this election than any I can remember... but regardless of the outcome I know life will go on. I am thankful to live is this incredible country!

Too bad the results stink but I'm glad I was able to vote even if it didn't do anything for my sorry state and city.
